Libya Open University is a scientific institution and a beacon of knowledge affiliated to the Ministry of Higher Education of the state. It was established by decision of the General People’s Committee (Prime Minister) No. 670 of 1987 AD. It began its scientific activities at the beginning of the academic year 1989/1990 AD. It is a member of the Association of Arab, European and Asian Universities. It is a member of the Arab Network for Open and Distance Education, and it has scientific and cultural cooperation with some Arab and foreign universities. Many agreements have been concluded internally and externally, and it is in constant and continuous development.
