Announcement of the first scientific conference on date palm development in Libya under the slogan (Caring for palm trees for sustainable development), which will be held on 05-06 September 2023 AD in Hun, organized by the Palm Farmers Association in Hun and the College of Agriculture – University of Tripoli, note that the deadline for submitting abstracts is June 30, 2023, and the deadline for receiving full research is July 31, 2023.

This conference confirms the importance of date palms and dates in achieving food security in Libya. Dates are a high-value food product due to the nutrients and vitamins they contain. Dates are easy to transport, store and circulate, and can be available throughout the year. Other parts of the palm tree are used in many domestic and traditional industries that constitute an added value. The palm tree and its various products are an important source of income and can be an important factor in bringing about sustainable spatial development by focusing on investment in small and medium industries.

Nutrient management and fertilization programs that achieve the highest productivity at the lowest costs.
Discuss the most important pests affecting the palm tree and methods of combating them.
Learn about the latest technologies used in sorting and packing dates and making use of their derivatives industrially.
Introducing local and international specifications and standards for dates and their products in order to facilitate their export to international markets.
Providing modern visions in the field of investment in the palm sector in production, processing and marketing.
