A peaceful popular revolution broke out in Libya on February 17, 2011, after the revolutions of Tunisia and Egypt. Colonel Muammar Gaddafi hurried to kill it in its cradle with weapons, but it overthrew him and his regime, after a series of air and sea strikes directed by NATO forces against the strongholds of Gaddafi’s forces.
