Libyan banking system conference towards a future vision for development مؤتمر النظام المصرفي الليبي نحو رؤية مستقبلية للتطوير

The Central Bank of Libya, in cooperation with the Economic Sciences Research Center, is organizing a conference on (the Libyan banking system…towards a future vision for development) with international participation, during the days of August 12-13, 2023, in the conference hall in Benghazi.

Conference Objectives:

  • Emphasis on the role of the Central Bank of Libya in following up the local, regional and international economic affairs.
  • Statement of the role of the Libyan banking system in economic activity.
  • Diagnosing the reality of the banking system in Libya.
  • Statement of the role of non-banking financial institutions supporting the Libyan banking system.
  • Draw a future vision for the development of the Libyan banking system.

  • The first axis: the banking system and economic activity:
    • The economic role of Libyan banks.
    • The banking system’s relationship with economic activity.
    • The relationship of the banking system to the money market.
    • Experiences of global banking systems and lessons learned.
  • The second axis: Banks and non-banking institutions operating in Libya:
    • The reality of the banking system in Libya.
    • Banking laws and legislation governing in Libya.
    • The role of financial inclusion in achieving stability and economic growth in Libya.
    • The role of non-banking institutions in supporting the Libyan banking system.
  • The third axis: recent technical developments and the Libyan banking system:
    • The role of various technical developments in developing the Libyan banking system.
    • The role of digital transformation in developing the Islamic financial industry in Libya.
    • Digitizing the services of the banking industry to enhance digital financial inclusion.
    • Risks associated with electronic banking services and their implications.

Important Dates:

  • Receiving abstracts on April 01, 2023
  • The deadline for receiving the full research is June 15, 2023
  • Receipt of the research after the modification attached to the presentation July 15, 2023 AD.

  • The close relevance of the research presented to the topic and themes of the conference.
  • To take into account in the research the foundations and controls of scientific research recognized.
  • Research previously presented in previous seminars or conferences, or published in scientific journals, is not accepted.
  • The number of pages should not exceed (25) pages.
  • The research should be printed in (Word) file format and the size of (A4) paper, and the font type should be (Simplified Arabic) and the size (14) and the spacing between the lines measuring (1.15) and margins (2.5) for all sides, and if the research paper is in English it is written in a font Type (Times New Roman) and font size (12).
  • The references should be documented according to the Harvard method of documentation.
  • All research submitted must contain, in addition to the abstract in Arabic, a summary in English.
  • The number of participants in the research paper does not exceed two researchers only.
  • The cover page of the research paper should include the following components: the title of the paper, the name of the researcher, his place of work, and his academic degree.
  • Accepted research will be published in a conference book.
  • Workers and specialists in the banking sector and stock markets.
  • Members of the boards of directors of commercial banks and oversight committees.
  • Relevant ministries and government agencies.
  • Academics and faculty members in universities and higher institutes.
  • Directors of information centers and research and studies institutions.
  • Members of the Department of Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
