The University of Misurata was established in its current state in 2010 after merging the University of the Seventh of October with the University of Al-Marqab, based on the decision of the General People’s Committee No. (149) for the year 2010 AD regarding the restructuring of Libyan universities. The university’s faculties are located in the cities of Misurata, Bani Walid, Zliten, Al Khums, Tarhuna, Al Qarabulli, Msallata, and Qasr Khiar. The main headquarters of Misrata University is located in the coastal city of Misrata, Libya. Misurata University is considered one of the most prestigious Libyan universities, which is recognized for its scientific, research, cultural, artistic, and athletic excellence, and in all literary, social, and intellectual activities. There are approximately 18,402 students studying at the University of Misurata, where students receive their education through quality educational programs and curricula in various branches of science and knowledge. The university also evaluates and participates in many activities to serve the community. Misurata University is home to one of the largest libraries in Libya. Misrata University has many cooperation and twinning agreements and educational programs with many prestigious local and international universities and strives to establish new relationships and agreements. Universities and institutions of higher education are generally considered centers of scientific and cultural radiation in society, and they are the main source for preparing the development of human forces that contribute to economic, social and cultural development programs and plans for societies, through spreading knowledge, carrying out educational and social scientific research, preparing required studies and statistics, and preparing qualified scientific cadres. . Therefore, the University of Misurata, within the framework of its conviction that the human capital capable of giving and creativity, and which contributes effectively to the progress of society and raising its standard of living and culture, should provide him with the appropriate environment that guarantees him an upscale educational climate and scientific research of high quality that keeps pace with scientific progress and contemporary civilizational achievements.
