Omar Al-Mukhtar University began its scientific and educational career in the College of Agriculture in 1975, which was the first building block and the cornerstone of this pioneering university, which was able to shorten the time in record time and advance its scientific pillars, which constitute twenty-two main colleges and sixteen subsidiary colleges, which were successively established since the academic year 85-86. She has scientific ability in various disciplines of applied sciences and humanities. In view of the need of the area extending from the city of Marj in the west to the Libyan-Egyptian border in the east for various disciplines of applied and human sciences, the university has been keen to study the development of additional colleges working to support development projects in this region rich in its human and natural resources with the availability of scientific capabilities and administrative competencies in taking scientific measures To establish a number of colleges successively in an impressive series of the university’s advanced architectural and scientific achievements that made the university an integrated scientific fortress that contributed to supporting the renaissance of society along an important area in the geography of modern Libya.
